|Visits to Six Flags Over Georgia and Whitewater Park||Throughout 2018, in-season (March-December)||
I have a Diamond membership for all Six Flags parks, as well as free parking, a season Flash Pass and a season dining pass within Georgia, so this is a good,
relatively inexpensive way to have some fun, get out of the house and get some exercise, and get wet during the long, hot summer!
If you're interested in coming along or meeting up, whether on your own pass or as a guest of mine (there are some freebie days and discounts available), email me or contact me on Facebook!
|"Regular, cheap" cruise to the Eastern Caribbean||October 2018||Less than $100/day including all fees and taxes -- in a balcony room -- 7 nights and four great ports! Can't wait! Should be awesome!|
|Fifth annual trip to Atlantis, Paradise Island Bahamas (but staying at the adjacent Comfort Suites)||mid-November, 2018||
The room at the Comfort Suites -- right across from the Atlantis resort's Coral Tower entrance -- actually would include
two guests, so if you're interested in meeting up there and staying in the room, contact me for the exact
dates via email or Facebook. The airfare would be the biggest expense here, but if you can find a cheap option (maybe Southwest) or cash in miles or points....
Guests at the Comfort Suites enjoy full access to all of Atlantis and its nifty Aquaventure Water Park and huge saltwater aquarium. It's also considerably cheaper than Atlantis and the rooms -- suites -- are nicer. The only exceptions to the complimentary access are Atlantis' Cove and Reef Towers' luxury facilities, the Mandala Spa, and Dolphin Cay.
|ChattaCon, in Chattanooga TN||January 2019||An annual tradition for me now since c. 1990. Oriented toward traditional literary (written-word) SF and fantasy, it's a great SF convention of the old school, with an excellent consuite, art show, etc. After the madding crowds at DragonCon, it's nice to go to something a lot smaller, friendlier and more intimate.|
|70,000 Tons of Metal cruise 2019, aboard Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas||Early February, 2019||
After four years of watching, waiting and wishing, I went on this cruise in Jan. 2015....and it was pretty awesome so
I went again in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and now I'm going again!
60 bands, 4 stages, 5 days and 4 nights on one of the larger cruise ships afloat. It's expensive -- compared to a "regular" cruise, anyway -- but it's a lot of fun! Frankly, considering the number of bands and the production logistics involved, the price isn't actually that outrageous, either.
|AnachroCon||February 2019||I'm now a director at this convention (in charge of the fan and band tables), which is geared toward steampunk, alternate history, time travel, Victorian aesthetics, etc. It's smaller and more intimate than DragonCon, and that's fine by me!|
