ProgPower USA V
Another success for Glenn and his team! Great to see old friends and make
new ones!
Some pics follow. The main performances were shot first from the front
'camera-pit' during each band's first three songs (except Pain of Salvation,
where we got a bonus tune), then from the sides or wherever. The last pics
were taken at "Progpower 5.1" -- Midnight's solo acoustic performance on the
2nd floor patio deck of the Fairfield Inn, as the Sun rose early Sunday morning (!)
Due to my feet really hurting, I missed Jon Oliva and WMD's
performance. :(
- Thursday night pre-show party at Club Vinyl (Halcyon Way, Magistral, Prototype and Enertia)
- Into Eternity (great show, cool guys, nice to see something heavier at PPUSA)
- Dreamscape (surprise band for me, hadn't heard them before; good crunchy prog-metal so I bought their latest)
- Tad Morose (I'd swear they started early, so just a few pics here)
- Kamelot (complete with "emergency backup Tarja," it seems)
- Adagio (sponsored in part by my friend Tony K. -- great show and cool guys, too)
- Wuthering Heights (sponsored by my friend Jim Raggi, who wasn't even at PPUSA. How kvlt is THAT?)
- Brainstorm (great show and crowd response, much bigger than we'd expected)
- Pain of Salvation (sponsored by...yours truly! It seemed like the 90 minutes flew by....)
- Edguy (this year's final headliner and with good reason, huge crowd response)
- Midnight at 6am (A true moment of Progpower history, here -- Crimson Glory's Midnight, impromptu solo acoustic performance)
- Miscellany (signings, group shots, friends, etc.)
